Denise Powers is a passionate running coach with an excitable and fiery spirit. As one of the original members and coaches of Northside Running & Tri, Denise brings over five years of exceptional experience from 5kβs through full marathon training. She is always on the lookout for coachable athletes who she can help challenge and train to meet their biggest goals.
A love for sports, fitness, and the outdoors began for Denise when she was a young child. Her family instilled this adventurous spirit by going on camping, fishing, and bike rides together. Early on, Denise participated in t-ball and softball, and then played volleyball through junior college and beyond. After college, Denise began running and strength training to keep her physical and mental health sharp.
In 2013, Denise was challenged to train and run her first half marathon. It was this moment that truly sparked her love for long-distance running. Like so many runners, Denise found the unique community that running offers, with like-minded individuals who are driven, passionate, and pushing towards goals. This community fueled her passion further. She has since completed two marathons, 15+ half marathons, many 10ks & 5ks, and thousands of training miles.
As her love for the sport continued to grow, so did her longing to help others along their own journey. This is what led Denise to becoming a professionally certified run coach.
